Addressing Silent Issues in the APIA Community

A person's well-being extends beyond the absence of a pathological state. In addition to its biological component, wellness also has emotional, spiritual, and social dimensions just to name a few. Topics such as mental health, addiction, and work-life balance involve much more than just the biological factors. These facets of health are often taboo or shunned from discussions in APIA populations. This conference aims to address these silent issues in APIA populations and explore the connection between the silence and health disparities. We hope that our discussions at the conference will promote greater awareness and encourage attendees to think of ways to move forward with these issues.

We are fortunate to have lined up a diverse group of talented speakers who will be sharing their insights on the different facets of healthcare and their experiences in making a difference within these fields. You will also have the opportunity to meet, network and exchange ideas with students from over 15 schools throughout the northeast.

Thank you and we hope to see many of you soon!

    Sincerely,

Rudy Chen, Tim He, Jaclyn Chen, Brian Hsia, Shannon Kiang, and Delia Shen
